Vacation = Knitting
I got so much knitting done over the past few days! But it all pales in comparison, really, because last week on Thursday I got harlotted -- that is, the Yarn Harlot mentioned me on her blog (did you know she has a Wikipedia Entry? That is just cool). At any rate, the net result was a huge influx of viewers and lots of comments from new people! So thanks to anyone new who's still hanging around, I try to answer comments but not everyone has an available email for replying.
Travelling Poms! Here we are on the Don Valley Parking Lot, trying to leave the city ever so slowly.
Pom again, a bit further along down the 401 and I've completed 1.5 repeats on the leg.
And yes, I finished them! With more than a full day to spare -- this is my Aunt Mae modelling them on Sunday afternoon on the patio out back of their house.
Doesn't she look happy? I love this picture!
But it wasn't all Pomatomus all the time this weekend. On friday I started and finished a completely new project -- a warm toque for my Uncle Jim:
Begun on the Don Valley before I switched to the Pomatomus to take advantage of the natural light during the daylit part of our drive.
I finished it up after our arrival and my uncle was thrilled -- and he insisted on a Pompom to finish it off! You can see it's both blue & gold, because I ran out of navy blue and had to work in a bit of gold in just the pompom itself.
The gold was along in case I ran out of navy blue on the first toque, but in fact I ended up with enough to knit this adorable child's toque too:
I'm torn between sending it to my tiny niece at the same time as the golden section baby blanket or hanging onto it for the next Dulaan.
And finally, my sister Andrea models some knitwear:
Clad in all the knitting gifts I gave to people this weekend -- she's wearing the Purple Alpaca Scarf I knit as a gift for her, as well as the toque for Jimmy and the Hot Pink Pomatomuses on her hands. Oh, and a pair of earrings I got for her in Mahone Bay in June. Isn't she gorgeous?

yo miss gift giver .....hello ...slow down with the gifts eh?
It's called CHRISTMAS you will need gifts then, and now they all will want knitted things. I'm just saying......don't knit yourself into a hole. Soon they will start ordering up stuff, hats, mitts, A/C covers, wall-to-wall carpets, ipod cosies. I would threaten to laugh at you during the month of december, but my knitting karma only allows me to smile quietly to myself.
go easy girl
from an older, wiser and know-it-all, mom.
Hey ho divine Miss M. Nice production am greatly impressed...will see you wednesday.
Ah, so that's you! It's so nice to be able to see what you look like, after having followed your blog for so long.
I bow before thee... You put me to shame with your prolific knitting! I've been stuck since Friday, having run out of Sea Silk after a "miscalculation" for my Convertible shawl... well, not quite run out, but the panic set in and Mike drove me all around the city comparing skeins (to no avail).
Needless to say, I was paralyzed and didn't knit ANYTHING for days. And here you are with a gazillion finished gifts...
*sigh*
Well done. Perhaps I am inspired now to take up one of the many UFOs in my stash trunk.
I, too, wound up here from the Harlot's blog, but I don't think I left a comment the first time. I was totally captured by your great photography, though, and I'm definitely coming back for more! :)
Wait a minute, Denny, who has ordered knit wall-to-wall carpetting from you? Besides, I am not worried about too many gifts, these were all peeps I won't see for xmas... sister will be in South America or something...
i wanna knit as fas as you when i grow up.
Wow, you DID get a lot of knitting done! The P socks look great! And it's good to see you belong to a family that appreciates knitting.
You work hard, play often and knit speedifuriously...You're like the Anthony Bourdain of the knitting world! You scare me!
I can't believe what a lot of knitting you get done in such a short time! You've sure been knitting up a storm, and I love every single item - fantastic work!
In that case start a xmas list and draw some lines through some names. It's a good feeling (cheap too), trust me......you may also see some gaps in your yarn srorage, you better look after that too. Just say'n.
