Canon Camera Sock

Knit in early January, this cute camera sock has made my wee Canon Digital Elph, already an itty-bitty little thing, that much sleeker and purse-friendly. My camera is a Canon Powershot SD500, which is very small but not as slim as the similar Canon SD400, so if you are trying to make one for your camera you may want to use a few fewer stitches. Ideally your sock is nice and snug on the camera so it stays on easily when you toss it in your purse.
Yarn
Trekking XXL or another similar light-weight sock yarn.
Needles
2mm DPNs
Directions
Cast-on 48 stitches, work *k2, p2* rib for 10 rounds.
Switch to stockinette for 3" or to approximately 1/2" from the length of the camera.
Decreases
*ssk, k2, k2tog, k18*, repeat.
Knit round even.
*ssk, k2tog, k18*, repeat.
*k2tog, k18*, repeat.
Graft remaining stitches shut.

cute. I like the shots! I made a few isocks like this for a few of the teens and college relatives in my family and they were a huge hit.
That's really clever and cute! And easily adapted to a PDA, iPod, etc.
Hi - I'm the one who started reading your blog via Kadi who linked you! Anyhow, got a question for you - my sister wants me to make her a camera case like yours. She saw it while I was surfing your blog the other day. Anyhow, got a question about the pattern...
you knit stockinette for half the case, then you wrote the decrease as follows;
Decreases
*ssk, k2, k2tog, k18*, repeat.
Knit round even.
*ssk, k2tog, k18*, repeat.
*k2tog, k18*, repeat.
Graft remaining stitches shut.
How many times do you do that before grafting shut?? just twice? If you're only knitting half the length of the camera, and then decrease won't it be not long enough? I'm still learning to read patterns, and have been knitting for just over a year now, so please forgive me for asking these questions!
Hope you can help clarify!
Thanks!
That is brilliant!
brewerbuns took the word right out of my mouth -- brilliant!
I found your pattern on ravelry and just used it - thanks!! I love how it turned out.
This is great. I was wondering what to make with my leftover sock yarn, and I finally found something worthy. I am so excited!!!
Cute but stylish :)
Thank you - I got the pattern off Ravelry and just made one. Completely delicious pattern!
