Don't forget to check out Part I and Part II! Pictures are small to respect bandwidth, click to embiggen them.

We had a long-ish ride out to the final destination, the
Naked Sheep being in the depths of
the Beaches.
Amy worked on her Tuscany shawl and laughed as we engaged in another round of camera wars.

We also had our first instance of
spinning in public (Help! As usual I failed to get a good picture of the actual spinner herself, and I can't remember her name. Someone knows, right?)

It was here where I remembered that it might be nice if I had a photo or two of myself at the end of the day! My first attempt, a self-portrait, inspired yet another knitter (who's name is escaping me!) to generously offer to take a longer range photo of me.

Naturally, it wouldn't be a day of ttc-ing if we didn't end up unceremoniously dumped off without notice when the streetcar short-turned at Kingston Rd. We all piled out, scaring the natives a bit, and waited patiently as not one, not two, but
three streetcars short-turned after the one we'd been on!

But finally a streetcar that wasn't short-turning showed up and we made our way to the end of our journey.

Here I spied some knitters in their natural habitat. For some reason this photo of
Lisa, Peggy & Kim reminds me strongly of a cute clique of high school girls making sly comments to each other about the new girl in the yarn shop. Hee!
Sarah beat us to the store as well, and she was working the floor. I am still thinking longingly about the Malabrigo Aquarella that they had on amazing sale at the store. She was also looking adorable in a bright red Cherry Bomb (from
Big Girl Knits), making me think seriously about it for my next sweater project...

See? See what I resisted? I am so fricking proud of myself for not buying any yarn at all on this yarn crawl.
Emily was there with her adorable baby, Clara. I know, I'm not normally a baby fan, but Clara was rockin' the knit hat and also was completely good-natured and quiet, my two favourite things about babies!

It was also at this point when people started pointing out the amount of sun I'd gotten. I'm terrible about applying sunscreen and this happens to me just about every year. Its not every year where I'm wearing a V-neck shirt and a big fat pendent in my cleavage to make this exciting pattern though!

Joyce began this Dream in Colour baby sweater and it is making me crave cables in the worst possible way. Maybe
Morrigan really will be my next sweater project, also giving me an excuse to splurge on a ridiculous amount of Rowan Calmer. Anyone have an tips on where to get some discounted Calmer? I think I'm going to need quite a bit...
Sophie and
Beryl posed together for this cute pic, more team captains sharing the love!
Aleta's hardened criminal tendencies paid off, as she was also rewarded with a prize for stealing the most yarn on the knitalong. Hee.

Of course, when a girl needs a sherpa as badly as all that, its important to reward her with a bag to stash all her loot in! Some of it even got paid for (I'm messing with you... it was all paid for.
Read the story though, its funny!)

I was also thrilled to get a chance to snap this pimpin' caddy. Click to embiggen it, because you can only truly enjoy the sparkle-level of its paint job in full, splendid size.

The end of the day, and waiting for a ride. We came away from the day with loads of yarn, books, sunburns, happiness, bags, tiredness and for some of us -- a resounding desire not to take the ttc anymore that day. ;)
We had an awesome, awesome time and I look forward to the fall version immensely. Thanks again to our fabulous organizers, all the amazing participants, and of course to the wonderfully generous LYS owners who all went out of their way to welcome us with food, sales and kindness.

thanks for sharing these pix! i have no idea how i missed the KAL again this year. doink.
and, oh, how i hate that queen streetcar. i once hit the trifecta of short turns in one trip: church, greenwood then kingston. took me over two and half hours to get home one night. brutal.
i'll let you in on a secret: the TTC will tell you that the reason for these short turns is traffic/flow control. the truth is: $$$. a cabbie told me (after picking me up late winter night after a short turn) that a TTC employee told him that there are relatively few new fares ever between kingston and neville park. so they turn the cars around to head them back downtown for new fares. how's that for customer service?
sorry to hog your comment space! just wanted to share that info!!
I love your photo of Amy (as does she). Next fall I am definitely clearing my schedule and going on the crawl - even if it requires phoning in sick!
oh MAN that looks like a good time.
I'm so glad the weather was fahboolous. and look forward to thefall event!
This? Seriously looks like more fun than the law should allow. Why do I have to live so far away?!
