Decisions Decisions

I am usually very good at making decisions, but there are some times when I am just overwhelmed with attractive options. This is where I find myself today, and I call on you, all 19 of my regular blog readers, to help me make this very important decision.

ITL-SaphireGreen-3
Which shawl should I knit out of this lovely Malabrigo Laceweight?

I have 4 skeins so I can afford to make a generously sized triangular shawl, which I will probably use as a cozy and beautiful winter scarf more than anything. Please let me know in the comments which one you love the most! The contenders, in no particular order:
  1. Lumiruusu (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
I really like this one, it has got a progression of simple geometric patterns that I suspect would keep my interest better than some of the all-one-pattern ones.
  2. Aquila (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
Again, this is just a lovely shawl. Nice geometric shapes without being too boxy or boring.
  3. Go Fly A Kite (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
Pretty and geometric. I suspect I would change the border if I did this one though.
  4. Arrowhead Lace (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
I just love the lines the lace pattern on this one makes, and I think they would shine through no matter how I wear it.
  5. North Roƫ (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
A great combination of simple geometric lace with a progression element that I love.
  6. Onerva (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
This is more solid than most of the others, which could definitely work for a winter scarf. Its also a little unusual looking, which I love.
  7. Kiri (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
A classic favourite, and for good reason. Kiri has the organic flavour of the leaf lace, simple geometric lines, and I think would make a lovely winter scarf.
  8. Luna Moth (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
This is getting a little curvier in pattern, but still sticking to my love for geometric simple forms.
  9. Adamas (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
Another elegant classic, geometric without being boring and with a great balance of openwork and heavier sections.
  10. Gold Nugget (Ravelry Link) (Flickr Link)
More open than most of the others I've considered, I just love the look though. I'd probably work it on slightly tighter needles to keep it a bit on the warmer side.

Hmm, I like a lot of these options but my favourites are numbers 5, 6, 7, & 9. I'm currently working on Adamas as my grandma's christmas present so I might be a little biased! #5 is definitly going on my ravelry queue!

I really like the Arrowhead one. I love the shapes in it. Very pretty I bet if knitted in that lovely shade of green.

I really, really love the Onerva shawl. It's so unusual, and I love the idea of the more solid in the semi-solid malabrigo. It would just be stunning.

My ravelry queue just increased by a couple of shawls. I really like Adamas, Arrowhead and Kiri.

I am currently knitting the Kiri shawl and am loving it. I'm going to use it as a winter scarf as well, so I think it's a good bet. Thanks for all these links to great free shawl patterns! Next, I think I'll try Onerva.

I think Onerva goes best with that color. I think I have to add it to my queue too - somewhere around 112 I think, but it might take cuts.

I really like the Go Fly a kite Shawl. but have knit the Adamas and Kiri shawls and loved them both too. Have you seen In The Pink yet?http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/in-the-pink-2. I'm knitting this now, and I Love It!

My vote goes for Onerva! I think it'd look great in that yarn and it's a really beautiful pattern. Thanks for posting these links - I'd not seen a couple of them before, and I also noticed that the designer of Onerva has designed another really beautiful shawl as well. Thanks for sharing your finds!

My vote is for Onerva, both for the color you chose and the winter aspect. It's not quite as airy, I think, that's why it makes me think of winter. Luna Moth would be my second choice... but really, I think Onerva is the one!

My first pick would be the Luna Moth, second is the Onerva, and third would be North Roe.

Good luck choosing - all so beautiful!

My vote goes to both Kiri and Lumiruusu because they just seem to scream GREEN Mmmmmalabrigo...

I vote for Adamas. The other ones are really girly and this one is more "street". Ok, perhaps "street" is the wrong word. I just like the squares.

I like Gold Nugget, Lumiruusu and Luna Moth, more or less in that order. I'm not sure your dear readers have been much help though since we're all over the map. I like the openess of Gold Nugget and how it is a bit softer than some of the other unrelenting geometry (which I generally like but I think would not do this gentle yarn justice), I Lumiruusu for the reasons you noted -- it is quite different and clever, and I like Luna Moth because I like the organic shapes and I think it would suit the colour.

Whatever you choose though I am sure will be perfect. You have an eye for these things!

In order of (my) preference: Onerva, Kiri, then Aquila. Can't wait to see which one you make!
